Example of colour change cost analysis
The following cost analysis has been made calculating the average cost for a difficult cleaning operation (from black, blue, green, red and yellow to neutral material – PE, PP, PVC, POM) in injection moulding.
The machines on which the cleaning operation had been carried out had ranged from 60 to 1500 tons of clamping force.
The specific material in this case used for purging was Ultra Plast P-O.

As we can see in this table and in the chart below, with use of Ultra Plast we can save 87 % of costs in the colour change.
It is very important that also the down time decreases, so we can save time and money in production cycle.
